A natural toner: Rosewater can be used as a toner before applying moisturizer as it helps absorb the moisturizer and makes your skin feel hydrated, supple and smooth.

1. Deep cleansing at least once a month: Give yourself a treat and spend some time on proper self-care as and when possible. Do not apply too much pressure, but use gentle hand movements to complete the process.

2. This will help you get rid of the dead skin cells and unclog pores. On top of that, improper diets, inadequate sleep, increasing pollution and harmful sun rays have made it almost impossible to have well-nourished and hydrated skin. Today, having clean, supple and beautiful skin is a priority for everyone, but it has become difficult to complete our daily skincare routines with the overwhelming and hectic schedule. For example, for oily and acne-prone skin, a cleanser with salicylic acid will do wonders.

3. Different seasons, different products: With changing seasons, your skin requires different skincare products, so switch accordingly. Say goodbye to dark circles: The skin around the eyes is super delicate, and it requires extra care. Those days are long gone when only women aspired for blemish-free, glowing and healthy skin. Don’t forget your lips: Your lips need some attention as well otherwise, they will end up losing that luscious colour. It takes only a couple of minutes and will help you feel fresh and rosy.

4. And if you have a habit of chewing your lips, stop immediately.

5. After scrubbing your face, rinse it with cold water for best results.

6. Apply a moisturizing lip balm to hydrate. If you leave the make-up on, it will clog your pores and lead to skin irritation and dullness.

7. During winters, the skin usually requires hydrating products, whereas in summers, switch to non-sticky products.

8. Having a peaceful sleep every night can prevent dark circles and puffiness.

9. Natural ingredients will be gentle on your skin. After that, follow a simple day and night skincare routine religiously to ensure your skin is squeaky clean and well-nourished.

10. Always use a wipe or water to wash any dirt. Vitamin C is a must: Invest in an excellent Vitamin C serum because your skin needs a good dose of vitamins too.

11. Choose face wash/cleanser as per your skin type. Avoid chemical-induced products, go organic: Always choose products made out of natural and organic ingredients like Neem, honey and Aloe Vera. Exfoliate regularly: Exfoliate your skin once or maximum twice a week with a gentle scrub. Choose products according to your skin type: The first and foremost important law for a proper skincare regime is to choose products that best suit your skin type. Don’t touch your face with unclean hands: Avoid touching your face, eyes or nose with unclean hands as it might spread bacteria and cause breakouts. A good facial/deep cleansing practice can pamper your skin to the fullest.

12. To prevent dark circles and puffiness here, apply a good eye cream with light hands and massage for at least a minute.

13. Don’t forget to take your beauty sleep: Taking an 8-hour sound sleep is extremely important to complete your healthy skincare routine. So, with their not-so-ideal work-life balance and restricted time for self-love, how can women gear up their skincare regime to protect their skin against acne, dark circles and dullness? If you are among one of those women who are having trouble with your at-home beauty sessions, here are a few tips and tricks to keep your skin healthy and glowing.

With inputs from Aswarm Pawer, CMO at Lets Shave. Go for the right face wash/cleanser: A wrong face wash/cleanser may end up leaving your skin feeling dry, tight and even itchy. Natural ingredients nourish the hair and make them lustrous and bouncy. You can find many of these magical ingredients in your kitchen, and if you know the right recipe, you can prepare your homemade hair oils that will make your hair look glorious and gorgeous. We got in touch with beauty expert Shahnaz Husain to share some DIY oil recipes to infuse life in dull hair.

Following DIY Hair oils will not only help you to keep the hair in good condition but also enhance hair beauty, by adding shine, body, and bounce to them.

Aloe Vera Hair Oil

Aloe Vera has a plethora of benefits including preventing hair fall and dandruff and treating dry scalp. It also adds strength as well as nourishment to your hair and restores the pH balance of your scalp & hair.

Recipe: Take one whole Aloe Vera leaf and slice it open into two halves. Scoop out all the gel from those leaves.

Take ½ cup of this gel and mix it with ½ cup of coconut oil (the mixture must be 50-50).

Heat the mixture on a low flame for 5-7 minutes and allow it to cool completely.

Add to this cooled mix 5 drops of rosemary essential oil.

Store this oil in a cool place and a dark bottle for 2 weeks before you start using it.

Amla (Gooseberry) Hair Oil

This homemade hair oil can be used by both men and women suffering from damaged hair, early greying, and hair fall. It helps stimulate hair growth, cools the scalp, and makes your hair shinier as well as darker.

Recipe:

Cut 2 Amla fruits into 4 slices each, and leave them to dry under a shade. Allow at least 1 hour for drying.

Add 2 tablespoons of sesame oil and 4 tablespoons of extra virgin coconut oil to the dried pieces of Amla.

Heat the mixture on low flame until it starts bubbling. Let it cool in the pan itself.

Pour this mix into a dark bottle and store it away from the sun in a cool spot for 1 week before using it.

Hibiscus Hair Oil

Hibiscus is loaded with Vitamin A, C, and other nutrients that promote hair growth, improve volume and make your hair silky and shiny.

Recipe:

Take ½ cup of Hibiscus leaves and 2 Hibiscus flowers. Wash them with cold water and dry them either in the sun or in an oven.

In a pan, add ¼ cup of organic coconut oil and ¼ cup of almond oil. Start heating the mixture as you add the dried hibiscus petals and leaves to it.

Heat for 5 minutes on a low flame and allow it to cool down.

Strain out the cooled oil and pour it in a dark bottle for storage in a cool spot for 1 week. Warm the oil a little every time you use it.

Onion Hair Oil

The high sulphur content in onions helps in treating a multitude of hair problems including thinning, dandruff, and baldness. It is also an effective anti-bacterial and helps combat scalp infections. Also, the vitamin and mineral content fortifies hair roots, giving you denser and stronger hair.

Recipe:

Chop a small onion finely and add 6 tablespoons of coconut oil and 2 cloves of garlic to it in a pan.

Heat the mixture until it begins to bubble and then allow it to cool down.

Add 3-4 drops of lavender/rosemary essential oil and store the mix in a refrigerator for 10 days before you start using it.

While you’re applying these oils to your hair, be gentle! Rubbing them hard over the scalp aggravates hair loss and promotes fizziness as the hair cuticles don’t get the required amount of hair oil. Take a cotton ball and dip it in hair oil and gently place it all over your scalp by parting your hair side by side. Cotton helps cuticles to absorb the hair and facilitates the equal application of oil on the scalp.
